Passionate  Possibilities

The idea for this research study came through the Women in Theology and Ministry Forum at the Candler School of Theology, which is under the direction of Rev. Dr. Karen D. Scheib.  The primary presentation was delivered by Sandra Thurman of the Interfaith Health Program in the Rollins School of Public Health.

Professor Thurman’s lecture was entitled, “A Passion for Possibility: The Prophetic Voice of Women and the Importance of Women’s Leadership”.   In it she spoke of the prophetic voice of leadership being the voice of transformation and the ways woman were changing the conversation around social justice.  This rang true for me and I began to seek out the evidence of validation through the narratives of an Oral History Project to which I am currently a research consultant.
